The Fantastic 4: Simcyp Rat, Mouse, Dog, and Monkey Simulators
Devendra Pade Ph.D. | Principal Scientist, Certara
Physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling and simulation has been regularly used to translate information from animals to humans to assist in dose selection and ‘First-in-Human’ studies. Certara’s animal PBPK platform, the Simcyp®️ Animal Simulators (SAS) include PBPK models for pre-clinical species such as the mouse, rat, dog, and monkey. Since it is common to obtain drug specific in vitro and in vivo experimental data in pre-clinical species, the SAS can help us to understand the complex processes of ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion) and develop pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) relationships that can be translated to humans. Watch this webinar with Dr. Devendra Pade to learn more about the Simcyp Animal Simulators, and the role they play in developing safer and more effective medications in the human and veterinary drug development arena.
