The Phoenix Workflow Shortcuts Every Pharmacokineticist Needs

Certara’s Phoenix™ Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) Platform can revolutionize your pharmaceutical organization’s approach to PK/PD data management and analysis. With an intuitive user interface for collecting, managing, and storing clinical pharmacology and pharmacometrics data, Phoenix allows you to leverage compliant, integrated workflows that lead to better decision-making during drug development. It also saves valuable time, especially when you use the following features:

Workflow Templates

Here’s a tip to turn any workflow into a reusable template. With a workflow diagram open, right click any whitespace in the diagram and choose “Connect External Sources to Data Links.”This action will insert data links into your project so you can turn it into a template. Check to make sure the workflow executes properly, then click the Save Workflow Template icon in the toolbar. You’ll be able to access your saved template for new projects by clicking the Load Workflow Template icon in the toolbar. Simply drag and drop your desired data into the template to generate your new workflow. Watch how to do it in this short video:

Apply Object Settings

If you don’t like Phoenix system defaults for an object, you can change the defaults to whatever you like.  Phoenix Object Settings can be set up for any Phoenix object, and more than one setting can be stored for each object type. Additionally, Object Settings can be applied retrospectively and can also be reverted to the application’s default. Watch how to create your own Object Settings in this video:

R within Phoenix

Assuming the external software R is installed and running properly, Phoenix can run R scripts as part of a workflow and make R plots and tables a Phoenix workflow result. This allows reproducibility and one-click reruns of your R work.  First, configure the R connection from the Preferences menu. Once the connection is established, R and Phoenix will speak to each other seamlessly. Here’s a 7-minute tutorial on how to make this connection:
