Abstract
This review examines how model-informed precision dosing (MIPD) is advancing pediatric antimicrobial therapy by combining population pharmacokinetic (PopPK) models with patient-specific data to optimize dosing. The authors discuss the limitations of traditional therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM), the growing role of Bayesian forecasting and clinical decision support tools, and the challenges to broader clinical adoption. The article highlights how MIPD can improve therapeutic outcomes while reducing toxicity and supports wider implementation of model-informed approaches in pediatric precision medicine.
