Dr. Matteson is Senior Director of Product for QSP Software at Certara, leading product development for Certara IQ™. Their work sits at the intersection of computational biology, software design, and AI-driven modeling infrastructure, with a focus on translating the frontier of quantitative systems pharmacology into tools that drug development teams can actually use.

What distinguishes Andrew’s perspective is the combination: a PhD in computational biology from NYU, alongside deep experience building scientific software from the code up. That dual fluency, knowing when a model is wrong and knowing why the workflow won’t scale, is rare, and it shapes every product decision they make. Before Certara, Andrew led product and scientific software development at Applied BioMath, where the animating question was the same: not just what the science enables in theory, but what it takes to make it work in practice.
